color trends
The pandemic has bought about the rescheduling of so many weddings and events in 2020. Some of them were able to push through in between parts of 2021, when there were no gathering restrictions, while the rest were just completely cancelled. It can get really tiring for couples to have to find new dates, inform everyone else about it, make changes to their designs and colors based on new trends.
Luckily 2020, 2021, and 2022 colors were just the same but in different hues. Assortment Rosy blush hues, Orange and Terracotta tones, Minty/Sage greens, and some dark blue tones. 2021 was almost the same, but with powder blues, lavenders, and olive or hunter greens. Now 2022 is like a mixture of both years so the look and designs that you had originally chosen, will still feel fresh and not outdated.
Weddings nowadays are so different from years before where there is only 1 color, and you see that color everywhere. The dresses, the invitations, the ribbons, the table cloths, and the wedding favors. It’s really the only color you will see. You enter the venue, and what you will see is a sea of white, and splashes of the wedding color everywhere. Now, we’re seeing so many different use of the color: different shades and combinations, it’s very pleasing to the eye because it makes your eye see different layers of colors.
You don’t want to be boring and just pick 1 color, right? Be bold. Choose a base color and get wild with it. But make sure the colors are coordinated, and complimenting each other.
To be able to do that:
GO to a paint store and get those free paint swatches. It shows you a 3-4 different colors of the same tone.
It’s basically like redecorating your home. You want to paint the walls once color, but at the same time, you want to make sure that everything around it looks cohesive. Choose your motif, find it in the paint store and get the swatch for it, so that you’ll be able to see the coordinating colors and then you can work around those colors for your décor, the bridesmaids gowns, the lighting, the elements of the wedding. You’ll have the freedom to play with different colors, while still having the cohesive look. When your guests enter the venue, their eyes will wander at all the play of colors, but they would think it’s beautiful and not clashing with each other.
Maybe your motif is green. Your bridesmaids will wear different shades of green. Your table cloth can be sage, while your table liner and napkins can be hunter green. Again, different shades of the same color.
