ikea wedding regisrty

Ok , I know I’ve been obsessed with Ikea blog posts lately. It’s just that I haven’t been to Ikea in a long time, literally for 2 years due the pandemic, that when it finally opened again, I immediately went. I felt like a kid in a playground to be honest. I know you can always see the items online, but it’s just really different in the store.

Anyway, I just recently found out too that they do gift registry there. I know, I know, it’s old news, but I never knew about it. The most popular place I know that had registry was Bed Bath and Beyond or The Bay. It came as a surprise to me that Ikea does this too, because a perfect place to get started on everything you need at home. I know that as newlyweds, you’d like to start collecting really nice stuff for your homes, either something that will last you a long time, or something that can pass as heirlooms. But you also have to take into consideration that you guys are just starting out. If that’s the case, then Ikea items are the best way to go, because they have so much good things on there that are worthwhile., and they do last. There are so many new things at Ikea, like every month, there’s something new.

WHY IS IT GOOD TO USE IKEA FOR YOUR WEDDING REGISTRY

  • It is not too much for your guests to spend on.

One of my pet peeves when I see gift registries for events is some of items are too expensive. I guess it depends on your social status, I mean if you and all the people you know are well off, then putting really expensive stuff on your registry is reasonable, but if you’re just like me, on an average income, it’s more realistic to put items that you know your friends can afford. One time, I saw an item on baby registry and it was this high end stroller, that as over a thousand dollars. I mean, come on, if you want high end stuff for your baby, then maybe save a few more dollars and buy it yourselves right? Or maybe it’s just me? I don’t know, it feels too much.

  • Tons of choices

Whatever you put on your registry, there are tons of options to choose from. You don’t even have to be specific. Let’s say you want plate, or cutlery set, there are so many options to choose from. Your guests won’t have a problem finding what you want.

  • Quality

Ikea products are really good quality, even the cheap MDF tables lasted me a while. I know some of the items, you might think looks like dorm room type of furniture, but there are items on there, if you really look, that are very beautiful.

WHAT ARE SOME ITEMS YOU CAN PUT ON YOUR REGISTRY?

  • Plates and utensils - we all need this. Sometimes we think that maybe we can just buy these ourselves, but why not put in on your registry so you don’t have to worry about it?

  • Cooking pan sets - these are good quality ones. I got one about 5 years ago and it’s still holding up.

  • Lamps - oh my gosh, I can’t even begin to tell you how I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Ikea lamps. There are so many cute options to choose from.

  • Beddings - from comforters, bed sets, blankets. You have everything you’ll need!

  • Small furniture - furniture like side tables, or maybe shelving or bookcases. Pls ever put couch or bed on your registry. LOL

  • Window coverings - so many options to choose from, just be specific with the size that you want.

  • Area rugs - again, be specific with the size and design that you want.

  • Mirror - they have really affordable full length, huge mirrors, that are priced way below what you would buy at a different store.

These are just a few items I can think of, that you would really want on your registry. They’re not too expensive, and would really get you started on your home decorating.

My advice is to get a catalogue, that way it is easier to browse everything all at once, and then when you go the store it’ll be easier to finish to your registry. You will not be overwhelned with you see on there, because Ikea is huge! It’s so easy to get lost in everything on there, there are so many good stuff.
